Wind Farm Power Optimization and Fault Ride-Through under Inter-Turn Short-Circuit Fault

Inter-Turn Short Circuit (ITSC) fault in stator winding is a common Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)-based Wind Turbines (WTs). Improper measures the ITSC affect safety of faulty WT and power output Farm (WF). This paper combines derating WTs optimization WF to diminish effect. At turbine level, switching strategy Fault Ride-Through (FRT) adopted ensure that safely operate under fault. farm Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based active dispatch used address proper references all WTs. The simulation results demonstrate effectiveness proposed method. Switching can increase limit WT, FRT operates without excessive current. PSO-based improve compensate for loss caused by WT. With method, competitiveness operational capacity offshore WFs be upgraded.
